C & S part-time WI and FL residents. We have done one previous Viking Ocean trip to the Baltic and absolutely loved it. We now have three new trips booked: 65 day Longitudinal cruise from Antarctica to Milwaukee (March 2023); Bali to Bangkok (March 2024) and a Mississippi River cruise Minnesota to New Orleans (Sept 2024). Our travel dates are a little further out, but would love to connect with others on our cruises.

Hi, my husband and I live in Ohio and winter in The Villages. We took the Romantic Danube cruise in 2019 and are now looking forward to our BIE in August.

Hello Everyone! David & I are booked for the West Indies Explorer Feb 2023. This will be our first Viking Cruise although we have booked 3 others that were cancelled.
We are looking forward VERY MUCH to the West Indies Explorer and are actively reading the books on the Reading List. What a VARIETY of books to enjoy and to prepare for this incredible cruise. We hope to meet others going on the same cruise and to get acquainted before sailing.

I am so happy that my hubby and I will be going on my 2nd Ocean cruise with Vikings in November 2022. We are going on the Iconic Western Mediterranean spending 4 extra days.

Hi…I’m Teresa. My daughter and I are doing the Rhine Getaway, Basel to Amsterdam on October 29. Excited to be here and eager to hear from fellow travelers!

Hi, I'm Monica from Pennsylvania. My boyfriend and I are traveling on a Viking Ocean cruise starting in Greece and ending in Rome. I am beyond excited.

Hi everyone, we’re Tom and Kathy Larson from Glendale CA. We’ll be on the Venus for the British Isles Explorer May 13, 2023. We’ve done the Rhine Getaway river cruise and the Viking Homelands ocean cruise. We don’t have any extensions booked, but we plan to arrive a day early in Bergen, and do a week on our own after we get to London.

can someone provide information on gratuities on the hotels (such as add on excursions, staying in a hotel after the cruise). What is the appropriate amount to give to the concierge at the hotel who books our dinner reservations? Is the appropriate amount zero? five euros?

Hi @Fran22! Hello from Georgia - USA! Welcome aboard! So glad to have you part of this community. I know it's great travel is finally returning to closer to "normal".
Hello, John. Rob and Karen from Utah, here. Sept. 23rd Grand European is our first Viking river cruise, and we are looking forward to it. Let us know if you have advice for newbies. I lived in Nuremberg and Bamberg Germany in the 70's and am anxious to see those cities, plus others.

Hello everyone! We are booked on our first Viking cruise for our 17th anniversary! Viking Mars from Bali on the Komodo and Australian Coast. We tried for our 15th, then our 16th and now crossing fingers this one is a go!! We are doing the Australia inland post extension and can’t wait to be at Uluru (Ayer’s Rock) on New Years Eve.

We love cruising with Viking. We have been on about 6 river cruises. After booking and rebooking three times, we finally went on Into the Midnight Sun cruise to Norway...just returned last week. It didn't go as smoothly as our previous river cruises, but I think the crew was dealing with a shortage of workers as well as schedule adjustments post-Covid. The ship, Venus, is amazing...so well planned and comfortable. We will try another ocean cruises a little later to see if the disorganization and other "hiccups" have gone away.

If the water level is too low for the ship to go from Regensburg to Passau, where will we sleep our first night of our cruise?

We are Sue and Larry, new members of Viking Explorers. We are scheduled for the Grand European September 12th thru September 30th. This is our first Viking cruise And we are eagerly gathering as much information as we can. Looking forward to the experience. This trip is two and a half years in making.
