Viking.TV Highlights from January 2024:

  • Mondays – Monday sessions featured conversations with long-time Viking family member and renowned British photographer Alastair Miller (Jan. 8). Ambassador-at-Large Jean Newman Glock visited the vibrant city of Barcelona (Jan. 15) and took a deep dive into Austria’s classical music heritage, including composer Johann Strauss’ The Blue Danube (Jan. 22). Viewers also enjoyed a screening of the award-winning film Searching for Light, An Astronomer’s Guide by British professional astronomer Gary Fildes (Jan. 29).
  • Tuesdays – Viewers joined in as British photographer Alastair Miller spoke with author Ben Coates about his travels along the Rhine River (Jan. 9) and Dr. Michael Fuller took viewers through “The Rise and Fall of the Mayan Empire” (Jan. 30). Jean Newman Glock continued her travels along the Danube River (Jan. 23) where she shares her experiences and photos of the architecture and ancient villages. Viking.TV viewers also followed along as Jean visited Montpellier and Marseille (Jan. 16) to discover its rich history and scenic views.
  • Wednesdays – Starting with culinary delights, viewers were taken on a culinary journey along the Rhine with Joost Ouendag, Vice President of Group Product Development at Viking (Jan. 10). Viking’s Executive Vice President Karine Hagen explored the 8-day Iconic Western Mediterranean ocean journey (Jan. 17). Karine also shared the top 10 shore excursion to enjoy along the Danube River (Jan. 24). To close January, illustrator Suzy-Jane Tanner shared her recent experience on the South America & the Chilean Fjords voyage (Jan. 31).
  • Thursdays –Thursdays featured a special “Postcards from…”session with seasoned travelers Betsy & Greg Ball, who shared memories from the Rhine (Jan. 11). Jean Newman Glock explored the best of Monaco and Tuscany (Jan. 18) and iconic British broadcast journalist and godmother of the Viking Venus, Anne Diamond interviewed Spanish Riding School’s COO Erwin Klissenbauer (Jan. 25).
  • Fridays – Viewers went on tours with expert Viking guides in Cologne (Jan. 12) and through the Italianate-style streets of Passau, Germany (Jan. 26). Jean Newman Glock continued her exploration of cuisine with a food-focused episode in Florence (Jan. 19).
  • Saturdays – Viewers enjoyed new gentle yoga sessions with instructor Mona Therese.
  • Sundays – Viewers joined Alastair and Karine in Switzerland (Jan. 14) for a guided tour from Black Forest to Basel and Lucerne. Irish TV chef and food writer Catherine Fulvio prepared a tasty traditional Hungarian goulash (Jan. 28).
