August 20 Amsterdam to Basel w Oberammergau

Please post here during the cruise if you have time, or afterward. Many readers will want to hear your experience with water levels, hotels, busing, excursions, etc. Thank you!Looking forward to our first river cruise! Any suggestions will be welcome
We have been on 7-8 river cruises and you definitely picked the best cruise line! We are going on this itinerary with the Olay August 28 and getting on the ship August 31. Munich is having heavy rains right now, so there is a better chance we can sail through our entire route. Suggestions include...don't waste suitcase room on fancy clothes because evening dress is usually business casual, basically no shorts, athletic wear. I have heard that "nice" jeans are acceptable now too. Be prepared to meet lots of great people who are usually travelers with lots of stories and suggestions.
Just returned from our Amsterdam to Basel Rhine Getaway w Oberammergau and we were so fortunate to have NO disruptions! All went so perfectly well, and Viking did a remarkable job keeping a mostly full ship running smoothly. We did not sail on the ship we were originally scheduled, but other than that there was not a hiccup to be found. Oberammergau was a delightful finale and the Viking staff made it all extremely easy and enjoyable. Hoping all other travelers have success in their adventures as well!
