We are on the Viking Mars Mediterranean and Italian Sojourn cruise leaving Barcelona to Venice on March 14, 2024. On March 23rd in Rome( Civitavecchia) we have booked a tour based on my daughter's recommendation when her and her family were there a few months ago. Based on her recommendation we will only go to the Colosseo to take pictures with no tour and to only visit inside the Vatican for about one hour + to allow time to tour more of Rome ( Already have tickets to tour Vatican at 11:30 am). (It is about a 1 + hour rive from Civitavecchia to Rome).The minibus we hired hold 8 people but we only want a max of two other couples to join us. The cost is 500 euro which will be split evenly.( 250 euros per couple for an additional couple ( not per person) and 167 euros per couple if there are 3 couples. See details below.

Certainly we are able to provide the private shore excursions requested with a comfortable brand new Mercedes minivan driven by fluent in English speaking driver.
Also our vehicles can drive through ZTL ( Zone Traffic Limited ) and your group is driven few steps beside the sites of interest to see, no long walk on foot.
Cost is of 500euro ( this year, while for 2025 is subjet to ROE for 2025 )based on number of 2 people party of your private group, not per person.

Pick up ship side, a drive to downtown Rome to see hilites of Rome such as Circus Maximus , Colosseo, Piazza Venezia , Mussolini Balcony , Vittoriano Monument , Pantheon , Trevi Fountain , Spanish Steps , Statue of Moses by Michelangelo ( inside a minor Basilica, free entrance , no line ), Piazza Navona and other significant sites along the way.
Tour of Rome also includes Vatican to see Vatican Museum ( Sistine Chapel ) Basilica and S.Peter Square
Most important : Due to limited time of the shore excursion, to see Colosseo tour and Vatican tour inside, time left to see other sites in town and lunch is very short, thus we suggest to skip one of the two.
A stop by a local place for a light lunch, pizza slice or gelato can be considered.
To buy skip the line tickets for Colosseo and/or Vatican will provide their links with next email.
Shore excursion is of 9 hour from pick up to drop off at ship side .
Admission fees for Colosseo and/or Vatican Museum, light lunch , pizza slice & soda or cappuccino and tip are not included.
